Gas Globe

In my fathers workshop, we have an old gas pump. Today a GULF gas globe to be mounted on the top, arrived. It is very sweet. The frame is made of polished plastic, and th logos are made of glass !

Footpegs

Same shit, same story : ) My freind Claus and I made a deal about theese old footpegs, now I removed the chrome and polished the aluminum.

Oil filter

I bought an old oil filter from a friend of mine. As much as I like polish metals I hate poor chrome ! This filter housing was (of cause) chrome, and it’s not just chrome, it’s some cheep weak china chrome, I really can’t stand it : ) haha.

Anyway it’s not worth the bitterness, and luckily there ís a solution to the problem. Today I removed the chrome by using a file and some sandpaper.

I polished the aluminum part and right now the lower part is just raw steel with a little leftover of copper plating. My plan is that I’ll just give it a layer of clear coating to keep the raw look. If it turns up to be a bad idea I’ll paint it black instead.

Rear fender

As you properbly have noticed no pictures were coming up last weekend. The thing is that I was very tired friday due to a lot of work in the aviation, and not much were done on the bike. Saturday I went to a housewarming and we had a hell of party !

This weekend things turned up a little different and I got some work done on the bike. Unfortunately this time my mother borrowed the camera to Barcelona, I'll take some better pictures later, for now we have to be content with theese shitty phone pictures : )

Hand made old fashion steel bracket mounted with rivets on the rear fender - this detail looks so cool in real life and migh be the sweetest detail on this bike so far:

Weekend

The weekend is coming up, and hopefully som bike pictures is coming up, I'm looking forward to see what the postman is bringing.
No matter what at least friday is scheduled for workig on the Ironhead project !

A view from the top

Today another engineer and I walked to the tallest point of Florø during our sparetime. (286meters above the water level)

Skull

I forgot my pencils in denmark, so I had to made this drawing with a ballpoint pen : ) The shadows will newer get the same as using a pencil - I'll redraw it when I get back home.

Dirty job

Removal and installation of brush blocks for the propeller anti-icing and replace the brushes is a dirty job : ) I almost look like an inverted negro :D white skin and black inside the hands...

The weather is very nice in Florø today : ) Quite cold, but the sun is shining and it is very fresh.

Spareparts order list

At the moment I'm working in Norway, so I can't really work at my Ironhead project, but that doesn't mean that I'm not getting anything done. Everyday I'm in the progress working out ideas for the last items on the bike. Besides that I can prepare a lot of things.

Today I ordered some of the spareparts that I need to get the bike done.

So now I'm looking forward to see what the postman is bringing : )

Center Kick stand

To highlight the old style on this bike I mounted an old center/ dubble kick stand.

Glory holes Part II

As done on the rear brake drum, I planed to drille some holes in the forward brake drum as well. Finally I found the time to make it come true.

With inspiration from the early race bikes I would like to make the holes like an air scoop.
I made a dawing and started to cut and shape some brass.

This weekend, working on the Ironhead project is scedueled !
I have been a lot in Norway lately, and I'm going again next week, so my work is reduced a little bit in January, but due til the work in Norway I can affort to buy some parts for the bike in the beginning of Febuary.

Proud to be tattooed

These guys got some nice tattoos. I'm looking forward to get some more ink in the skin myself.

Photoshop

I used a few minutes in photoshop, and colored the headlight, tank and rear fender black. It's always easier to imagine the final result if the parts got a neutral and similar color.

Yesterday Allan gave the bike the name "Pocket Rocket" - who knows, maybe it suits it : )

The tank and the rear fender isn't mountet correctly yet ! - the fender will be shorter !

Engine assembly

During the Christmas I spend a few days at my parents place. Among the heavy loads of Christmas food I found some time to put some of my Sportster engine together - and most of all, fit the frame for the cylinder heads.
I think this was the last frame modifications, all I got left is to mount a new pipe above the engine to stabilize the frame. At least that is just welding, no cutting is left.

I think the bike looks great with an old Ironhead installed;

I just got this old Indian 1919 km/h clock. . . would it be a shame useing it for the bobber project ? yeah...

Yesterday and last wednesday I visit Killer Bobbers, in Copenhagen. They got some really nice places, and we had a good time. Thank you guys : )
